Invest in the Pakistan Stock Exchange from Overseas
A clear starting point for overseas Pakistanis and eligible foreign individuals or institutions seeking access to securities listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
Choose the route that matches your status
Pakistan's capital-market framework provides different onboarding routes for non-resident Pakistanis and foreign investors. Your route depends on citizenship, residence, applicant type, banking arrangements and the KYC or due-diligence requirements applicable at the time of application.
- Overseas Pakistanis / NRPs
- Non-resident Pakistanis may use the Roshan Digital Account and Roshan Equity Investment framework where the selected bank and brokerage route is available and all required verification is completed.
- Foreign individuals
- Eligible non-Pakistani individuals may invest through the Foreign Portfolio Investment framework, generally using a Special Convertible Rupee Account and the applicable custody, brokerage and KYC arrangements.
- Foreign institutions
- Companies, funds and other institutions require entity documents, authorised-signatory information, beneficial-ownership verification and the relevant banking or custody structure.
Route 1: overseas Pakistanis through RDA and REI
The Roshan Equity Investment route is designed for non-resident Pakistanis who hold a Roshan Digital Account. The investor selects the equity-investment option through the participating bank's portal, chooses an available brokerage house, provides any additional information requested and completes the broker's KYC and customer due diligence.
Route 2: foreign investors through FPI and SCRA
Foreign individuals and institutions can invest in securities listed on PSX through the Foreign Portfolio Investment framework. A Special Convertible Rupee Account is generally used for investment-related inflows and outflows, alongside the required brokerage, custody and regulatory arrangements.
