Risk & Regulatory Disclosures

The risks of investing in securities, stated plainly, and the regulatory framework this firm operates within.

Investment risk. Investments in securities are subject to market risk. Security prices may rise or fall, and investors may lose some or all of their invested capital. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Specific risks

General investment risk
Investing puts capital at risk. There is no arrangement, at this firm or in the market's infrastructure, that protects an investor against a loss caused by prices falling.
Equity-market risk
Share prices move with company performance, sector conditions, economic and policy developments, and market sentiment. Many of these are outside any investor's control.
Price-volatility risk
Prices can move sharply and quickly. A wide gap between a security's daily high and low is a direct sign of this, and low-priced or thinly traded shares are often the most volatile.
Liquidity risk
A security may not have enough buyers or sellers at the moment you want to trade. You may not be able to sell when you want to, or only at a materially worse price.
Settlement risk
Trades settle on the market's cycle. Failing to have the funds or securities available for settlement has consequences under the applicable rules.
Technology and online-trading risk
Connectivity, device, software or network problems at either end can affect the timing of an instruction. A submitted order should never be assumed to be an executed order until confirmed.
Account-security risk
Credentials that are shared, guessed or phished can be used to operate an account. Most account-security incidents begin with a credential leaving the account holder's control.
Force majeure and market disruption
Trading can be suspended or halted, in a single security or market-wide, for reasons including exchange decisions, regulatory action and events outside anyone's control.
Conflicts of interest
Where a research report carries a rating, valuation, target price or forecast, it is published with the analyst and conflict-of-interest disclosures applicable to that report.

No guarantee against loss

Neither Almeer Securities (Pvt.) Limited, nor the Pakistan Stock Exchange, nor the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, nor the Central Depository Company, nor the National Clearing Company of Pakistan guarantees any investor against a loss caused by the market.

The SECP is the statutory regulator of the securities market. CDC and NCCPL are market infrastructure institutions providing depository, clearing and settlement services — they are not regulators, and none of these bodies underwrites investment outcomes.
